Eh, most devs involved are volunteers. If they enjoy, say Xfce, and decide to dip into development, then it’s not wasted time for them.

Telling them they’re wasting their time, because KDE already has dips on the Windows-like paradigm (and, given its customizability, all the other paradigms, too), will not make them invest their time into KDE.

Clearly, Xfce is different enough for them to prefer using it, and as such, it’s also perfectly legitimate for them to develop it. Not that they need legitimisation, because again, it’s their free time.

This article reads like a cheap parady of the corporate hit pieces Microsoft used to pay for.

Linux desktop diversity is great, it’s best in the world. No other operating system has so many different desktop environments or customizations available.

    XFCE all the way!

I did not read the article, but agree with the headline. I really struggled to find a good colorblind filter for linux similar to the ones available for Windows / Mac / iOS which have been excellent for me. There was some gnome filter someone once recommended to me that was the closest I’ve seen to something sufficient, but it was ineffective for me and I’m still hoping a better solution comes along.

It would be worth it to reach out to a few devs for the DE you use and offer to help them implement colorblind support.
