Imperialist media is wild. On the one hand, it’ll be like, “Ackshully, everything the empire is doing is good and right.” On the other hand, it’ll be like, “Everything the empire is doing that could plausibly be wrong is imported from those bad foreigners.”
In this way, it appears to have a conscience insofar as it can recognize some wrong things as wrong while furthering its goals to vilify the latest targets of the empire by shifting blame for the origin of the wrong things to those targets.
