  • Don’t worry; as a person born and raised in New Mexico most people would consider me an immigrant so I can say that I agree with your sentiment that the land is truly glorious. We got a freakin northern coast and a temperate massive grassland for farming all the food anyone could ever need (barring tornado or big agriculture ruining it). Not to mention a great trench in which to cast dissidents or non-virginal women who dared to miscarry their pregnancies. We also got The Big River and then built the bigger car-river! Truly, a wondrous land.

  • Fallout was brilliant, but I think worked so well because it was a new story set in that universe and not a retelling. didn’t see The Last of Us but never played the game so nothing to based it on if I had.

Another one that comes to mind that was well done (just not as good as the source) was the live action One Piece. Watching just the first episode made me actually want to watch the Anime and 1000 episodes later here I am. They have bit off more than they can chew with that though, considering how bonkers that shit gets, but at least the first season was a faithful adaptation.

  • According to wikipedia, the contiguous 48 states of the US (which occupy the middleish part of North America) are 8,080,464.3 km2, compared to Europe’s 10,180,000 km2, so that should give you an idea. My country is nearly as big as your entire continent, thus things are very spread out. Also our entire modern culture was designed around cars, suburbs and racism, so towns are flat, expansive and nothing is close to anything useful unless you have a car—woe to those without (myself included).
