some kind of paranoia about always needing to register new accounts.
I mean, you’re not entirely wrong, the multiple accounts is for a few different reasons, but one of them is defense against impersonation accounts which has happened to me lol
But the main reasons for the many instance accounts are kinda unrelated to the ml crossposting kinda are, they are
- Promoting smaller instances, because of the volume of my posting it helps makes smaller instances more recognizable
- Making comms on fitting smaller instances (e.g. a programming comm id make on programming.dev)
- Mitigating against the imposter problem
- Better interconnecting smaller instances
Have you ever put the context thing in your copied posts?
I’ve thought about it, but ultimately decided against it, I felt it would make the thread in whatever comm I’m posting it in too off-topic. So instead i just comment it whenever it’s inquired about

Well, that’s a new one, I don’t really consider titles OC unless you put in some sort of personal story or something like say of your title was “This is so my [child]!”, then I change it to something generic
Sorry if it made you sick, however, it does serve as a decent demonstration that despite being “bigger” by subscriber count the actual activity of the “big” ml comm is MUCH lower. This comm doesn’t even have a third of the subscriber count, but most crossposts here average better engagement than .ml
Btw, I saw your other comment, there’s !fdroid@lemdro.id and !rant@lemmy.sdf.org and www.lemmyverse.net is a great resource for comm discovery
