I know we liked to call it “the world wide” web, but realistically the owners and operators of websites are individuals, people who live in a nation-state and are subject to their society’s rules. Although American capitalists really tried, it’s not fair to expect one website to serve the entire world’s needs or be a truly global public service. If we want that, we’d need to collaborate at the UN to make it happen.
the crazy part is, the meat industry is only staying afloat because of billions in subsidies! meanwhile vegetables get basically no subsidies at all, just limitations on the amount a farm can produce. you can see the cost of that policy decision in our health outcomes.

I saw some people on threads in TX who had to wait 2.5 hours in line to vote today. As someone from a real state, where there is never a line in my local neighborhood polling place, that is incomprehensible to me. But you know, voter suppression is a real thing.

His mental health declined until he murdered someone. It’s not that he is “batshit”- he had a very serious issue that he could not manage on his own. When you isolate from others, can’t work, and only focus on your own pain and violently hurting others until you do it- you are not a healthy person who can mange your own affairs. To me, it’s no different from saying someone “deliberately” slammed their head into the wall, so they don’t “need” a room with cushioned walls.

If your only definition of “mentally stable” is “they don’t murder again”, then I guess you could make that argument, but it is ok to just acknowledge the fact that murder is not a healthy behavior. Like you don’t have to fight fact on that one. It’s just a known truth about the human condition. You can want Luigi out while acknowledging that murder is unhealthy and wrong.

he’ll probably kill someone again. the judge was wrong to not allow a MH conviction to go forward, but ultimately that puts the jury in the position to let out a seriously mental ill murderer with no consequences or not.
yeah, hasn’t every administration fired the entire federal government for refusing to tell the president no, coordinated an election fraud campaign, and then pardoned the people who participated? that’s totally normal.
I prefer to try to primary a candidate within my party, because no offense people not voting in the primaries is how we got joe biden.
No, this year more than literally any other year in human history would be the absolute worst time to not vote for a democratic candidate. We are dealing with unprecedented challenges to rule of law, and we need every single person with a functioning soul to scream “NO” as loud as we can. Because if you don’t, you might not get another chance.
