I’d really like to learn Python so I can customize qtile

It’s the first distro I’ve tried where everything just works right out of the box and nothing is overly bloated. All of the software I use was available from the Bazzar and my printer even worked right away. No fiddling with CUPS or trying to install from binary/tar/appimg/etc.

A server is just a computer like any other that connects to other computers through the internet and shares data back and forth. It stores its info in hard drives so yes, they can definitely fill up. But just like other computers they can be upgraded with more storage space if that happens.

The cost ranges wildly depending on how powerful a server you need. I’ve used my 10+ year old lenovo as a server and it probably isn’t worth much. Conversely, I’m sure some professional server stacks can get quite costly.

As for if lemmy.world needs more, I can’t say. That would be up to the maintainers of that instance to comment on.

If you’re looking for something that won’t give you any headaches then I wholeheartedly recommend Bazzite. IMO it’s the best distro for the casual user.

I’ve also been interested in NixOS lately for the ability to easily transfer and back up the config, but I have yet to make that jump. It seems like a really great way to set up an OS though.

She is generally uninterested in most things I watch but this past week she was particularly interested in the Star Trek TNG episode I was watching, for some reason.

I’m saying that in order to find a good relationship we should learn how to recognize and potentially put aside these sexual preferences in favor of seeing a person for who they really are. Most women prefer taller men. The height doesn’t make them better partners.

Sexual preference is inherently selfish though. I’m not shaming it just calling it what it is.

There is no ideal height combo. You should enter into a relationship with a person because you like who they are as a person. Height preferences are purely selfish sexual interests.

I shower regularly now but a few years ago I had major depression and stopped showering for months. I could barely motivate myself to breathe. I’m not even kidding, I was so depressed I was struggling to breathe. People don’t realize just how much effort it takes to do basic things like eat, brush your teeth, or even get out of bed when you have no will to be alive.

Even so, no one ever commented on it. Not even close family. I’ve always had super dry skin and I noticed that during this period my skin was actually somewhat normal. It’s possible no one said anything out of kindness but I doubt it tbh. Some people just sweat/smell less than others.

I feel like this is something they would do with Mt. Dew. I would also try it at least once.

Hostile, not that I have seen. Insular, possibly. Lemmy is much smaller than Reddit (which I personally enjoy) so it can seem like somewhat of an island. It’s kind of inevitable to find know-it-all’s in a thread based platform like this, unfortunately. I would imagine most people on here are very tech savvy and we tend to have a more nitpicky way of socializing/viewing the world. In the few years I’ve been here Lemmy has grown tremendously though.
