also Monument Valley 3 is coming to Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/3132930/Monument_Valley_3/
The Starver regime is living up to its name.
negative on both accounts, although after doing an image search it looks like the mastodon account just lifted it from here
Same, it’s just a completely pointless waste of human life.
yeah basically
Haha yeah, I think the main take away from the whole thing is just how deeply US media is integrated with the state.
The funny part is that the whole story about Chinese peacekeepers is made up to begin with, and China already denied it.
That’s like double of what it goes for in Canada after conversion. 😬
the prices are about same today it seems, not sure if it’s still under lock up though https://groceries.asda.com/product/premium-instant-coffee/nescafe-gold-blend-instant-coffee/1000003408016
yeah kinda where things are moving
There is a legitimate problem there with the fact that you end up with a hodge podge military that lacks compatibility. This is already a problem in NATO incidentally. Different weapons platforms have different parts, have to be serviced in different ways, use different ammunition and so on. This creates a logistical nightmare when you’re fighting a cohesive army that uses standardized platforms for everything. Russia has a massive advantage in this regard.
The reality is that the whole hare brained scheme of creating a European army is unhinged. European countries should be creating domestic industries, but those should be aimed at producing socially useful things. Instead of having delusions of fighting Russia, Europe should be doing diplomacy.
My prediction is that the EU will create a massive slush fund by forcing member countries to do austerity. Then all this money will go in the pockets of the oligarchs and nothing much of value will be produced. It’s gonna play out exactly the way EU plan to deliver 1.5 million shells to Ukraine did.
Yeah, a 5 year or so timeline before we see SoC design becomes dominant is a good guess. There are other interesting ideas like analog chips that have potential to drastically cut power usage for neural networks as well. Next few years will be interesting to watch.
I think the key part is that you can run these large scale models cheaply in terms of energy cost. The price of hardware will inevitably come down going forward, but now we know that there is no fundamental blocker for running models efficiently.
lol yeah that whole thing kind of died down didn’t it
And that’s the problem with profit motive in a nutshell.
the key bit
This represents a potentially significant shift in AI deployment. While traditional AI infrastructure typically relies on multiple Nvidia GPUs consuming several kilowatts of power, the Mac Studio draws less than 200 watts during inference. This efficiency gap suggests the AI industry may need to rethink assumptions about infrastructure requirements for top-tier model performance.
It’s a really charming series.
