I found this small aluminum item in a tool box. It’s 1.5" diameter. The two pieces screw together. I thought it was a little stash container, but the larger piece has a nub inside which would fill the void on the smaller piece when screwed together. Is this some tool? Or maybe a little machinist project.
If there’s any small gap left when it’s screwed together it could be a nitroglycerin tablet holder
That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
I don’t know what it is for sure but I bet it’d work great as a pill crusher.
Could be a rosin pre-press mold.
This is almost what it is. They come in lots of shapes and sizes. This one is probably for hash coins. Seems too small for a puck for a rosin forge, and hash is commonly sold in pressed coins.
Yes, I think your right. I used a pre-press of similar diameter for a very small setup but now that I think about it, it had a chamber in the top piece like this: https://files.catbox.moe/c4tw63.jpg
Good call.
This thing is threaded though, which would be counter productive to the pressing.
I don’t think the threads would impact the pressing with this design; they are outside the inner chamber.
My wild guess would be two end stops for pipes. One external and internally treaded for the same diameter.
That’s what they are! I have a box full of leftover parts from years of home repairs, and I frequently store caps of opposite genders screwed together like this.
maybe perhaps it’s a pair of caps for sensitive equipment, like some coaxial cable termination. these things can get expensive
