The Irish literally became the people who watched over black slaves, weren’t they? They also became the first “police officers” whose jobs was to retrieve run away slaves. This is one of the reasons that many police officers nowadays tend to be Irish

It’s not really valid to conflate Irish-Americans with the Irish - they are materially different. We’re not eugenicists here.
Good point. I’d say that the historical struggle of the Irish is still worth paying attention to.
