. * here’s how they are supposed to work
The joy of selecting cookie preferences on every single website never gets old…
Edit. And we have our first winner
Zalando, a German online fashion retailer, has filed a legal challenge over its inclusion on the DSA’s list of the largest online platforms, arguing that it’s being treated unfairly
Nevertheless, Zalando is launching content flagging systems for its website even though there’s little risk of illegal material showing up among its highly curated collection of clothes, bags and shoes
Classic
Use consent-o-matic.
You choose the level you want, so for me I don’t want anything but the required cookies. Now when I visit a webpage, after a few milliseconds consent-o-matic will automatically handle it for me, in a minimised state too.
Like this screen recording i made the first couple sites didn’t pop up as I mmust have been there before but on the telegraph you can see it work.
Why isn’t this just built into the browsers? Why can’t I make a universal setting to reject all unnecessary cookies and have websites recognize that instead of asking me every time? They way this is implemented is asinine.
It is. But website owners are ignoring that because it would make it easier to opt out.
Thanks, apparently works for android Firefox as well from a quick search.
Edit. Nope, doesn’t work on android Firefox. Found add on called Ghostery, works
OMFG - Firefox with ublock and bypass 🤌
Thanks dude
Firefox for Android + ublock + other add-ons is so freaking good
It’s really great. Even when I forget I have it and get angry at the popup as it takes a bit longer than I usually take to click.
Please use catbox.moe, imgur is trash
I find “I don’t care about cookies” to work better in most websites.
I’ll give that a try. Thanks.

Twitter about to go offline in EU in 3… 2…
It will be an interesting test case for sure, whether the EU is willing to take down X/Twitter/whatever if they don’t comply. Or if they offer up some half-assed compliance, as per Elon Musk’s signature passive aggressive style.
If the EU doesn’t react forcefully to that, these regulations will be as good as dead, because why should anyone else comply if Elon gets a free pass?
It’s now X. And good
Edit: good that it’s going offline…
… if you’re a fan of Elon boy, white supremacy, the alt-right, homophobia, “anti woke” propaganda, or making excuses for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Otherwise it’s shite.
Clearly I meant good it’s going offline.
Clearly a lot of people didn’t read it that way.
But yeah, I agree with you:
TwitterX going offline in the EU would be nice.
Maybe (s)he meant good that it will be shut down in EU?
Yep, that exactly. I would actually be surprised there are a lot of people on the fediverse that actually like Twitter, but I have been surprised before.
