Reading the article: this is a model Google trained for the purpose. It’s not some broader application of Bard for example.

Oh, great. We’ll have to sit through some ads just for the light to turn green. While I appreciate the initial benefits of this program, google, the data collection and ad company, should not be allowed anywhere near physical lives. They have proven themselves, time and again, untrustworthy.

Get rid of most cars and we no longer need traffic signals, reclaim the public property we lost to streets.

I’m a huge fuck-cars believer and live carefree but no matter how you slice it we’ll need traffic lights.

Cycling in pure anarchy also blows.

Not all vehicles will be replaced so we need lights.

Roundabouts are more pedestrian unfriendly. I’d rather have stop lights.

I’m aware of how roundabouts work thanks.

Cars don’t stop in roundabouts. They’re made for cars. Drivers don’t pay enough attention to pedestrians when in motion. They never have.

Traffic lights stop the 2 ton killing machines. Roundabouts do not.

Roundabouts are strictly worse. Traffic lights are better because they inconvenience drivers more and there’s nothing more important than inconveniencing drivers.

I agree that we cant get rid of ground level motorized vehicles entirel, but a lot can be done to technology nowadays wise to make them pedestrian save.

Traffic lights save lives but i think our lack of vision and will to find a better alternative for having a house wide lethal zone between every row of houses is costing us our mental heath, safety and climate. Its not the lights perse that are a problem but our entire transportation philosophy thats a toxic mess.

In some places they create a geographic limitation to electronic steps so the speed limit is enforced within certain zones. Why they can do that for steps but not for cars beats me.

I dream of the day where i can just wak my child to school without endangerment (current the sidewalk, for the parts there is a sidewalk at all, is not big enough to fit a stroller or wheelchair.

It will take some tome still but i am hoping we can evolve to ai-air taxi will pick you up at a liften platform on the corner of the street and the idea that everyone needs to own their own vehicle and a space for it just dies like all the other non-sustainable habbits humanity has forged.
