START, FOLLOW & REPLY on #lemmy from Mastodon.
I use the Lemmy community ‘test’ as an example
START
- start with the title of your thread
- enter the name of the community where you want to post: ‘@test’
- enter the body text.
FOLLOW
- Right of the thread in Lemmy you see a blue box with the name of the thread (‘!test@lemmy.ml’)
- In Mastodon, enter the name in the search box but remove the ‘!’.
- follow
REPLY
Simply reply to the posts in your timeline.

At the risk of telling you something you already know …
Where this gets interesting is when you create your own community on lemmy. This requires a lemmy account.
When you do so, people can follow and post to that community as a group chat, or a microblogging community. Everyone following it will get every post to the community boosted to them. So it’s all-to-all.
The creator of the community has good moderation powers too should anyone get abusive/bad.
