Is there a “/r/brandnewsentence” community in the Lemmyverse yet? Because that headline…

It’s seriously unexpected. I thought I was back on the onion subreddit for a second or something

Base model M1 + Game Porting ToolKit performs better.

Whoopi doesn’t need a Steam Deck. Whoopi needs to wait until one of those easy-to-use-GPTK.app gets released.

Is there any easy to use toolkit for people available right now? I’ve seen some guides but it seems like I’m trying to install Arch Linux from the command line. 😅

I think there are multiple “wrappers” being developed right now. Whisky comes to mind and there was another quite similar one, but I forgot the name.

Doesn’t it play fine with the new game porting toolkit thing Apple has now?

Works great at 60fps on my M1 Max mbp, but a) you really have to use it on the Sonoma beta for the least problems. I made a Sonoma beta install on a separate SSD to not mess up my current install. And b) updates to Battle.net can break it, so you have to reinstall Battle.net if that’s the case. Not a huge deal but that means going to terminal and inputting commands, etc. Not ideal. There are other programs that are supposed to ‘smooth’ out the install process, like Whiskey, but I haven’t tried them.

As long as you don’t use Steam games you can already use it on Ventura along the beta of XCode Command Line Tools

As in using it bricks Steam games entirely, or you mean you can use it as long as you’re using it on a non-Steam game? Curious to try it out this weekend but not if it breaks the rest of Steam =P

I love her comment, but last I heard D4 was a micro transaction hellhole. So not being able to play doesn’t seem like a bad thing…

At level 40 right now, haven’t seen a single micro transaction that was necessary for gameplay so far, just if you want cosmetic enhancements (who cares!?). Pretty happy with the value to date.

Why would she (or anyone) buy a game without making sure their device can play it? Sure, it would be great if it were available on the Mac, but as a Mac owner, I would know to check that first. I don’t blame her for wanting it to be available, but I read that she’s asking for a refund because it won’t work. If the average everyday buyer wouldn’t get a refund, then she shouldn’t either.

    Hi Whoopi,

we agree, its annoying that blizzard didnt release d4 on mac when they made such a big deal out of M1 optimized wow a while back. Hopefully we’ll get a 1 click solution once the emulation wrappers get figured out.

loved you in Sister Act 2: back in the habit
