They’re mostly looking into it to help get the cost of shipping goods to remote communities down, but this bit at the end sounds so cool I want to write a novel about it:

Sadly, people have been talking about this for at least 15 years now. I’m firmly in “I’ll believe it when I see it” territory.
I wonder if it’s time we revisit hydrogen airships. Use it both for lift and fuel, powering a electric engines via fuel cell. It would also allow remote communities to generate fuel on site.
