Nuclear energy has its risks, but is energy denuclearisation sensible policy, or is it simply rooted in unmerited alarmism?

This article is a few years old, but I just found it and I think it offers a well written, helpful perspective. For example, it turns out that hydroelectric power has a much worse safety record than nuclear. I never thought about that, but it makes sense. Yet, one is more acceptable than the other somehow.
