There are roughly 28.2 million cows in the United States and 7500 wolves, most of which will never have any contact with humans.
No wonder there are so many fatalities, there are cows with guns.
Not super surprising considering the billions of interactions with cattle and people compared to maybe thousands (probably more like hundreds) with wolves
