You leave your fingerprints on everything you touch. Fingerprints should never be used as the only authentication factor for anything important.
Any IoT type devices should be on their own network where internet access is by whitelist only. They should only have access to what they need to function and nothing more. Ideally, they should all be used with self hosted services so internet access is not needed.
At least the AI hasn’t figured out a way to install browser toolbars yet.

Unless you’re using IPSec, disabling these modules won’t break anything.

There are a number of videos online of escalators breaking and going down at high speed.

8GB graphics cards, it it 2016 again?

I use global addresses for everything. ULA is the equivalent of the private networks like 10.0.0.0/8 on IPv4. It doesn’t need a static IP. ULA will work without any internet connection. If you run an IPv6 only network, it would be a good idea to set up ULA so you can access your local devices if the internet goes down.
I only use SLAAC on my network because DHCPv6 is not well supported. My router does use DHCPv6 to get a prefix from the ISP though.

If you use a 7 inch display it could be a lot more compact. I was thinking of a portable monitor in the 12-15 inch range.
Laptop chargers have gotten a lot smaller. A compact laptop may only need a 45 watt charger and the GaN chargers in that power range aren’t much bigger than a phone charger now.

You need the Pi, a portable monitor, a keyboard, a battery, all of the cables to connect everything and a case so you can pack it around without breaking it. That ends up being something about the size of a laptop and not one of the really thin ones either.

Mobile games usually aren’t controllable with a keyboard and mouse. Being able to run them doesn’t do much good if you can’t control them. Most of the games aren’t even worth playing. They are infested with micro transactions, which are much worse than ads.

Suspend the PC instead of shutting it down. It will use almost no power and wake up in a couple of seconds. Whatever you left open will still be running.
Reed switches aren’t that sensitive. The magnet usually has to be within a centimeter or so from the switch to operate it.
