It is a domestic issue. Why foreign press is so interested about it? It is not true that the government demanded anything, local courts are acting independently and are rightfully applying local law which is by no mean in contrast with EU regulations on the matter. Foreign newspapers tend to exaggerate things and present this as much more worrying than it actually is just to make Italians look dumb and retrograde, and instill a sense of superiority in their readers. They should write about freedom of speech in Italy if they wanted to create a real scandal oh and, btw, I hope they’ll be the next ones…
