“Always” is a bit of a stretch, IMO. It’s only been within about the last decade or so that we’ve had a 100% accurate SNES emulator. To the best of my knowledge, we still don’t have 100% accurate emulation for any 5th-gen consoles or later.
How so? Citra took like 3 years to boot a game, I’d say yuzu wasn’t a better experience until 2019ish when audio finally stabilized? There’s no PS4 emulator offering a better experience than the hardware.
But the switch is basically solved and I assume nintendo won’t change the new system significantly, to keep compatibility.
