Honestly it is. The remaster is beautiful. But the games are very much tank controls at heart. So even though it might feel counter intuitive to use the old tank controls; it definitely is the best way to play these games.
I’ve tried the modern controls, and it becomes apparent really fast that these games were not made for it. It’s clunky and unwieldy at best, and completely illogical and unresponsive at worst.
The tank controls take some getting used to, but if you play Lara’s home you can get used to them in peace.
I grew up with resident evil so, maybe I’ll get used to them quickly.
I’ve always had a hard time using a controller with the tank controls, but I love the keyboard controls (I may be in the minority here). Worth trying if you’re playing on PC.
