There is plenty of reasonable critiques of capitalism you could make without defending the USSR which was every bit as bad as Nazi Germany. You defending Lenin and Stalin is going to be rightly viewed exactly the same as another guy coming here and defending Hitler. If you are socialist, the smartest thing you can do is to do everything you can to distance yourself from Lenin and Stalin. The world has already seen what their version of “socialism” looks like and it is absolutely horrible. In order to taken seriously, you would need to make it very clear that your view of socialism has absolutely nothing in common with Lenin and Stalin.
