DoJ is entirely stupid here. Maybe they should go after Microsoft for being hostile towards users & ignoring their settings, or against Apple for being way less open than Android. To claim Google has a monopoly over search is not true, else then Microsoft has a monopoly over operating systems and should be required to sell Windows. But even if it was true, at least Chrome doesn’t reprompt me everytime I open it like Edge does saying… “Are you sure you don’t want to use our special invasive settings instead of the ones you picked?”

No its not stupid. It’s just the big companies aren’t prosecuted enough for being monopolies. They need to punish google and punish others too for being monopolies. You dont just have to pick 1 company

Have you tried using Chrome without setting it to the default browser or signing into a Google account? It may not be as in-your-face about it, but it is also persistently annoying about the user not having Google-flavored Stockholm syndrome.

Yes I have. It respects “don’t remind me again” but Edge does not. Edge reminds me nearly everytime I open it and it isn’t about default browser but about privacy settings it wants me to change to opt into all their analytics.
