First time building a system with an AMD CPU and I think that it’s my first bad CPU I have ever had. PC will just shut itself down randomly. I know that bad CPUs are super rare so I am trying to figure if it could be anything else. These are the specs and troubleshooting steps I have tried.
Specs: CPU: 9800x3d Motherboard: MSI MAG Tomahawk x670E RAM: G.Skill F5-6000J3238F16GX2-FX5 (32GB) GPU: 4090 PSU: Seasonic Vertex GX-1000
Troubleshooting:
- Fresh install of Windows when the system was built
- RAM is on the motherboard compatibility list
- Competed one run or MemTest86, no errors were reported but it shut down during the second pass
- Tried updating the BIOS and it shut down during the process -> RMA’d motherboard
- Replaced Power Supply (new Seasonic power supply)
Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be other than a dead CPU?
