I think teams belong in 2024, in 2025 the icon of copilot should belong here. Its being shoved down your throat if you like it or not.

Teams doesn’t understand that if I open a message and look at it and interact with it and sometimes even reply to it, that I no longer need a “new message” notification and it drives me fucking insane.

Teams entire notification user experience is dog shit.

Some of the calendar and video conferencing integration features are nice, but life is much better in G suite and Slack if you’re an enterprise.

I’m forced to use Teams every day at work. As awful as it is, it’s never as bad as the days a vendor makes me use Zoom.

Other way around for me. At least Zoom listens to whatever I choose for my primary audio device on my PC, Teams just does whatever the fuck it wants.

I have to use a headset all day for work for work. When I have Teams open on my computer, it occasionally decides to completely break my microphone until I close Teams. No idea why the fuck it does that or how Microsoft manages to mess up voice input for a program that uses voice input…

I’ve had that happen as well. Teams decides to give itself privileged access to the microphone and then forgets to surrender that privileged access when no longer needed.

Used Teams for the first time ever a week ago to do an interview and that bitch did not want to connect to my earbuds. Just fucking refused to work. Meanwhile, I used Zoom twice a week for my programming class and had no issue connecting to them and using that as my output.

for me it’s how stupid they were to integrate onedrive into it so now I have old engineers saying “i put that file in teams” and they mean one drive in a “team” folder but they think it’s one big chat room.

no. that’s the thing - they only try using the teams interface to open docs not the actual app (ie word) and then opening a onedrive file. they’ll bitch that “teams doesn’t support x” and use the native app, save a file “whatever-v3.xlsx” and then email that file around while bitching things don’t work.

Because in their length of terms here they have grown into complacency and have forgotten to learn.

Me: Teams, can I please add this file to this folder?

Teams: Sure, just click “Add file” and navigate to the file you want to add.

Me: Can you let me just drag and drop?

Teams: No, fuck you. Click “Add file”.

Microsoft in a nutshell. In 2015 they realized they had it right in 1995 but still elected to change it. Morons.

Teams use case works 95% of the time. That’s honestly impressive. Yeah sure, it might act wonky sometimes but what software doesn’t.

In general is a good tool for calls meetings and general notes

I’ve drafted multiple responses to this but I find this comment so nonsensical that I get lost in my own anger trying to formulate a coherent sentence.

      Sir/madam, you have broken me.

It lacks so much basic shit that is standard for other voice or messaging apps, and it forces garbage ‘featutes’ like mouseover emojis on every message with no option to disable. You cant adjust the volume of individual users in a call. If you lose connection (due to ie a corporate vpn), you have to manually click ‘reconnect’, which consistently fails the first few times.
