I cracked up when one of them said that Chinese authors “produce thousands of garbage papers” to pad the figures. Like (1) why would China invest in dubious research methods like this when it wants to dominate these critical technologies, (2) what do they think “publish or perish” means in the West, and (3) were they hurt when China beat the absolute crap out of the USA in the last physics and maths olympiads?
