I tried all the clients that are out there and no matter good they felt alien as I was accustomed to using Boost on Reddit. Now that the lemmy client has come, it’s like I’m using reddit now. The only thing that bugs me is most communities didn’t move from reddit and I’d have to continue using the official shitty app to engage with them.

Also I wanna know whether this one time payment would be all to access all the features or does the dev intend to go the sync route and offer something like ultra tier?

Be the change you want to see in the world. Try to start one of those communities over here. Don’t be disappointed when it doesn’t get traction within a few days. There are some places to advertise new communities here.

That’s what I had thought but there are some niche things I’m into and most other people who are into the same, neither have the time nor do they wanna put any efforts into learning something new, heck many wouldn’t even know that lemmy exists or there were other clients you could use to access reddit. So I’ll have to stick with it.

Also this whole fediverse and instances thing is a bit too complex to wrap head around for people who aren’t geeky and just wanna get things done.

Lemmy just doesn’t have the userbase for super niche communities though
