What a colossal waste it was.
For people who have not yet listened to it, I highly recommend Dan Carlin’s ‘Blueprint For Armageddon’
What did they do with them? Melt them down on-site or transport them elsewhere?
Transport them, probably. Can’t imagine it’d be cost-effective to build a mass smelter wherever the front is, not to mention that you’d still have to transport the metal afterwards anyway.
