I am using Linux rn and I want to convert audible files to mp3, so I can listen to them anytime, is there a way to do this? (preferably locally)

Looks like ffmpeg is able to handle aa3 formats. Should be able to use that to reencode
difficult bc of encryption/drm
not sure if it would work on encrypted stuff tho
