Currently playing a lot: Viene de Mi by La Yegros, and a live album of The Divine Comedy at the Shepherds Bush Empire hand-compiled from the B-sides of CD singles. Favourite song: No Hay Nadie Como Tú by Calle 13 and Café Tacvba. Favourite song but only with its video: Cubicle by Rinôçérôse. Guilty pleasure: Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne.

My favorite band is The Sound, 1981 album “From the Lion’s Mouth”. The most beautiful song of them for me is “Winning”.
Another band that I adore are Joy Division with “Love Will Tear Us Apart” 😊

I just picked up “Aisles”, a cover EP by #AngelOlsen, and the debut album from #WetLeg on vinyl for the turntable I just pulled out of storage.
All time fave is #Genesis, especially the transition album “Duke”

@ajsadauskas @music@fedibb.ml @music@lemmy.ml Either Sgt. Pepper or Abbey Road is probably my favorite album, depending on the day, although I also love A Hard Day’s Night, Rubber Soul, Revolver, the White Album, and Let It Be Naked.
Favorite album cuts (rather than the great singles everyone knows) would include “If I Fell”, “Nowhere Man”, “Girl”, “Eleanor Rigby”, “Tomorrow Never Knows”, “She’s Leaving Home”, “Within You Without You”, “I Will”, “Julia”, “One After 909”, “I Want You”, and “Because” – just for a start. 😋

The variety of this band is just astonishing. You can’t pin them inside one style or genre – not to mention that they *invented* half the genres you hear in today’s popular music!I don’t know them enough to have an relevant opinion.

One fave springing to mind is the Minutemen’s magnum opus, Double Nickels on the Dime, which out-punked everything in the US hardcore scene in the early 80s. Varied, clever, original, full of the joy of making tunes w your pals. Genre busting, in a way. Probably listened to this double LP over the years more than any other. Good times.
@ajsadauskas @music@fedibb.ml @music@lemmy.ml My all time favorite song is Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd. I first heard it when returning from a hitch hiking trip through Eastern Europe at 16. I was trying to live my life spending as little money as possible back then as a screw you to capitalism, and my guilty pleasure was buying Pink Floyd vinyls in used record stores. The song still gives me chills decades later.
These days I listen a lot to SebastiAn, Knower, Justice, Vulfpeck, Carpenter Brut, Lorn.

I was a punk teenager when it came out and i already loved industrial music but that album made me personally not want to form a punk band anymore, and begin producing electronic music which i still do to this day 30 years later.

My band is Pink Floyd and album of forever is Dark Side of the Moon. I own at least six copies, from LPs to SACDs. The album is a classic.
