Bingo! How to post to Lemmy from Mastodon!
Put the title of the post in the first line (or at least before any other IDs/users/groups). Then tag the lemmy community as though they are an account.
Then tag other people at the end if you want them included.
Can you give an example of a working tag that starts a discussion on #lemmy?
@paulschoe @test @piratepost @fediversenews @alghost
So, just to demonstrate that this is working, Troy can view this post on lemmy here: https://lemmy.ml/comment/446959
Otherwise, to answer your question, you’ve anyway done it: @test
Another would be @asklemmy (see https://lemmy.ml/c/asklemmy)
Mastodons autocomplete should help you type these community names and addresses.
And hopefully, you’ll be able to read this post from my lemmy account posting from lemmy itself.
Yes, I got your post. Do you get this reply?
Yes I did!
@test @paulschoe @piratepost @fediversenews @alghost
And not, this conversation should exist on lemmy here: https://lemmy.ml/post/1142168
And anyone who follows the test community on lemmy should have been notified of the post.
Hope this helps.

To tag a community, use the same format as with normal mastodon accounts, but use the name of the community. In this thread the community name is simply “test”.
You can find the name in lemmy by looking for “!test” format or look at the URL where it will be the part after the “/c/“: https://lemmy.ml/c/test/data_type/Post/sort/New/page/1
Then the second part is the domain of the instance. That is, here, lemmy.ml.
Mastodons search should help find these communities
