You’re probably right. Just seems almost every post in an AR community is going to have some privacy implications considering that cameras are very rarely not involved and this video doesn’t detail anything especially serious when it comes to those.
The xreal air 1 proved you can do a lot with AR without cameras. I wish companies would focus on maturing those use cases and make cameraless devices mainstream.
Not sure what those glasses in particular have that other display glasses don’t, but in the context of AR cameras are just basically inevitable as we progress towards more advanced devices since they’re the only way to do 6dof tracking anywhere and you need a model of the world to do much.
I think we can do a lot of useful things with just 3dof. Those glasses had great head tracking without cameras.
