I don’t know much about the platform, but I’ve browsed for a bit and I see people uploading other artists music, unofficially I assume, which means they are technically file sharing/piracy?

There’s no revenue stream to the artists on Funkwhale right? Is it donation based?

    No??? It’s free open source music, uploaded by the creators.

    It’s also sometimes less moderated though, so if you do find pirated music uploaded, either report to the mods of the instance or block the instance

    If someone uploads music they don’t have copyright to then yes, in most places that will be piracy

    @SuperLallarn if the content is open source it’s not piracy. You can report content to the administrators. You can also post your own tracks has an artist or podcast creator
