They are anarcho-capitalist (a nonsensical term), yet are part of the government?
Anarcho capitalism is just a fancy new term for fascism. It’s just a bunch of inconsistent ideas to create a mass movement out of disillusioned middle class teenagers and young adults.
So like monarchists? They are usually the type I imagine would laze about talking about how their ideal form of society would be like while not doing anything about it, so they default to conservatism whenever they vote.
Yes, kind of. I don’t think these people actually want a monarchy or a land aristocracy back in power, they just fantasize about a UK, Sweden or Spain type of constitutional monarchy. There are some crazy people in Brazil that dream of having a figure like Pedro I or Pedro II back in power, because those are seen as representatives of some kind of Brazilian golden age.
There’s a pattern in all these reactionary theoretical frameworks. Many of them rely on symbology, idealized past, contradictory premises, some abstract reasoning on nationalism and economy with no material or historical basis, all of them leading to fascism. The reason is simple, when it comes to their practical action, they are always advancing policies against workers’ rights, welfare, and regulations in capital. So it does not matter if what they stand for makes no sense, they are just being used to advance a capitalist reactionary agenda, but posing like they are anti-system or defying current social conventions.
