This is bit of a weird one, please bear with.

I have two Lemmy accounts, the other is over on Beehaw, and when I signed up there I got my acceptance email np. My husband also tried to sign up there, but never got an email and ended up joining another instance.

Now it turns out there was some kind of configuration issue and emails weren’t being sent out from Beehaw to Gmail users (being discussed as part of this thread). This makes sense, he signed up with a Gmail address and I didn’t.

The reason I’m mentioning this here is that I signed up to lemmy.world with a Gmail address, and I didn’t get an acceptance email. Just speculatively tried logging in after a few hours and it worked.

So it could just be me. Or it could be that whatever issue was plaguing Beehaw is also an issue here in which case they’ll know how to fix it.

Any other Gmail users care to weigh in?

Ok I’ve turned on email notifications and we’ll see. Cheers for looking into it, I just hated the thought that people might be bouncing off Lemmy due to things like this.
