Alicia Esteve Head is a Spanish businesswoman who falsely claimed to be a survivor of the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, under the name Tania Head. She joined the World Trade Center Survivors’ Network support group, later becoming its president.

Wow, that’s a pretty wild story.
Obviously it was wrong of her to deceive people, but at least she was helping people.
I watched the documentary The Woman Who Wasn’t There about her. One of the weird things is that she didn’t try to financially benefit from it - no funny business with donations for the organization and she put her own money in.
