Neelix was a great character once they got rid of Kes and effectively removed her from his character’s past — it was always a very possessive, groomer like relationship with rather creepy overtones.
Once that was gone he was valuable and somewhat relatable. His storylines with Naomi were wonderful.

I’d like to add the caveat that it was only once Scarlet Palmers was playing Naomi.
