What’s the deal? I had to read the Iliad and the Odyssey back in Hum 110, a required class. I liked the Odyssey more, but don’t understand the controversy.

What happened that it’s controversial as a movie?

I think it’s because Helen is black. And Elliot page is in it (they wrongly believed he was Achilles)

That was my first guess. That someone transgender was in the movie. How predictable of these assholes.

          Its so pathetic.

There’s some trailer they were all piling on. It had some obscene number of thumbs down on youtube.

I guess they were hoping that was indicative of what the public reception of the movie would be, and are now butt hurt to discover that they really are far right nutters even if there’s 47 million of them on youtube.

This idiots response to this predicament is to declare that his chat bot is going to make a better movie in the next 5 months. Anyone who’s used any electronic device in the last 5 years will know this to be an absurd, laughable claim.

He would be embarrassed if he hadnt buy himself a half billion yes-idiots on Xitter to tell him everything he says is amazing.

Oh, you know – the usual shower of Twitter chuds saw the racially diverse cast and took the film as a cultural assault on Western civilization.

They dismissed it as wokeslop before they had even seen it, and now that the movie is out and a critical success, they’re beside themselves.

Oh whatever. I’ll watch it because, Odyssey. And if the flow/acting work, I won’t care who is cast.

Dumb casting choices can be made. McLaughlin in Dune (way back), playing a teenager. Sean Young as anything other than a robot. David Duchovney trying to act out a past life in Xfiles. And so on. All of those are worth complaining about. These people focus on the wrong things.
