If you search for lemmy.world in the communities on lemmy.world you see it says “Lemmy.world”, but if you search for childfree instead the supposed suffix is shown despite it being on the same instance. However if you go to the community directly and click on the Link below the title that says !childfree@lemmy.world you end up at https://lemmy.world/c/childfree which is 404.

It seems like it, yes.
I think it also confuses the lemmy instance it’s on. If you search for lemmy.world in the communities on lemmy.world you see it says “Lemmy.world”, but if you search for childfree instead the supposed suffix is shown despite it being on the same instance.
