I thought about saying “you know it’s a grift when they collect personal information and leak it.” According to their Bible, you don’t need an app to pray. They say church (or a covenant, I forget, it’s been 30+ years since I read the KJV) is when any two people come together to talk about Jesus (sorry!). So, where does an app fit in? And why does that app need your personally identifiable information (referred to as PII in industry). Wouldn’t an all-knowing God already have it?

But you don’t have to know it’s a grift… I feel like this is proof the Vatican (or whoever made this app on their behalf, and thus speak on their behalf… and the Pope allegedly speaks on God’s behalf) themselves know it’s a grift. Because why would they need your PII?

I know, fools and their money are soon parted… just saw this on /all and figured the Fediverse’s top Atheism comm should have it.

the Pope is not responsible for this app, he simply endorsed it

Kind of like your god isn’t responsible for catholics molesting kids, he just endorses it?

If he didn’t, it wouldn’t happen. Or is he too weak to stop it?

It is sick that people like you actively defend this horseshit. Stop hiding from accountability. Stop normalizing selfish delusion.

he gave us free will, he isnt responsible for what WE do through free will.

If I gifted my friend who was aspiring to become a chef a box of knives and he stabbed someone, would I be responsible?

He didn’t give us free will, though. romans 9:21-22:

21Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one object for special use and another for ordinary use?22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath that are made for destruction,

The author is saying that some of us were literally created to be evil so god could smite us and flex his muscles.

He has a history of violating that free will (that he didn’t give us,) too. For example, in the exodus story, where Moses goes to pharaoh to extort the release of captive slaves (that didn’t exist, details.), god hardened Pharaoh’s heart so he could flex and cause plagues, including the first born sons of people who didn’t do some blood magic.

Also, all the people he ordered genocided probably didn’t want to be genocided. Just saying.

It’s probably a good thing that monster doesn’t exist. I mean, really. Imagine what an all powerful toddler would do to the world when he reads my comments about him.

        Edit: heh. Still here.

If you were all-powerful and knew that would happen, YES, it is absolutely your fault. EVERYTHING WOULD BE YOUR DOING.
