I feel like it’s much more fun to participate here vs Reddit, and I’m less “intimidated” without those large subs.

Yea totally. I like being apart of this small early stage community, i feel like im actually apart of something. Reddit can be kinda hostile, and the popular subs are impossible to actually interact with people on. There is not as much content here, but people seem like they’re having a good time, and I’m here for the comments anyway.

I just hope we don’t have a mass drop in activity when the protests end. Been waiting for Lemmy to blow up for years and this is our best shot at making that happen.

Yeah, the big subs feel like all the content that gets through is devoid of emotion because that’s what the mods decided to allow that day. God forbid you decide to post something you thought was cool, but something similar was posted 2 years ago so now you’re banned from posting.

          fun /s

I didn’t even use Reddit all that much, but here I’ve spent way too much time already. Just seeing all these communities forming and people trying to find their place is fascinating. Not really something I see every day!

I thought I would be to do something else with my time. Took me a whole hour after deleting Apollo to then go searching for the alternatives people had listed.

Joined Beehaw and downloaded Mlem shortly after.
