Sure, Tolkien’s writing may have the odd issue. On the other hand, GRRM wrote such a clusterfuck of a boring Middle Eastern savior fantasy detour that he killed his entire series, and has been avoiding it religiously for decades. I would be pretty embarrassed to open my great big yap, if I were him.
My dude, you got a plotcliff
In the 8th Dungeon Crawler Carl, Matt Dinniman said he understands how certain people could get “clogged”. I swear if he doesn’t finish the series, I’m going to burn down a Barnes and Noble.
I wonder if signing TV deals puts more or less pressure on the following books?
And hey if he doesn’t finish let’s coordinate since I’ll help
Is it possible to follow you on Voyager? I’ll never remember your username
I’ve heard Patrick Rothfuss speak at events in person twice since he released the second book of the Kingkiller trilogy in 2011. Both times an audience member asked him how to deal with writer’s block, and he responded “You don’t get to have Plumber’s Block. If your job is to write, you write.” The third book is still not written enough for him to release a chapter of it like he promised as part of his kickstarter stretch goal five years back.
I guess what I’m saying is admitting to writer’s block and not finishing a book don’t always go hand in hand.

actual plot holes or fan nitpicking who think they are smarter than they are. Thats a bit cruel. Sometimes folks just like to debate about beloved topics.
Tolkien had started a sequel. And never finished it. Also, it was his son that polished up the silmarilian
