A lot of people seem to be realizing that knowledge work is mostly pointless. AI might give us the pleasure of finding out what happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers.
If I got paid for doing factory work anything even close to what I get paid to slap keys on a keyboard, I’d flip to factory work without hesitation. The satisfaction from actually “DOING” something is so much better than arguing with LLMs and people all day long and never really knowing if you did anything at all at the end of the day.
Also it’s great to just be done with work when the day is over, instead of constantly getting emails, DMs, and other noise non-stop 24/7.
