Saturday I’ll be running session 3 of a D&D campaign with some friends, Sunday my parents come over for some father’s day grilling, and Monday I have off work so I’ll probably just chill and play TotK for 10 hours.

My summer might be peaking here lol.

Yeah, it’s hard. This is session 3 but session 1 was in March. We can’t really figure out a regular schedule so just decide when we can play next as we go along.

Planning to go out to the local state park and look for good boulders to climb. My goal for this summer is to transition from indoor to outdoor bouldering.

I’m manifesting tickets to a local festival right now which means I’m basically waiting for them to fall out of the sky and hit me in the face. I miss having money for these things! It’s meant to be rainy anyway so maybe I won’t miss much!

Apart from that I’m meeting a friend for some food and then visiting some family. I’m starting a new job next week so I might do some prep for that. Or I might not, I might just wing it on the day haha!

What line of work/industry is your new job in (if I’m allowed to ask)? Best of luck with the new gig, you’ll kill it.

Teaching! I’ve been in the wrong industry for years but I think this is where my skills really lie. I’ve terrible attention to detail and can’t plan to save my life so office work has been a terrible drag. Teaching is something that really comes naturally to me, I love being at the top of a classroom. I know you’re meant to plan loads for it but I’ve found even my best plans often get derailed and I’m good at improvising so I’m not going to get too hung up on the planning part!

Thanks for the well wishes, it means a lot :)

That’s awesome. The world needs more enthusiastic teachers.

Pizza night, splitting back and forth between Diablo 4 and Zelda with my wife. Grilling out on Sunday for Father’s day and then back to gaming. Counting myself lucky for a quiet weekend

My daughter has a new best friend and I haven’t met her mum yet, so the girls have organised a get together for us at a local cafe so we can meet and get to know each other. It’s kind of a blind playdate for the mums, lol. The cafe they’ve chosen is between where we both live and the food and coffee are excellent there. Apart from that I’ll be making my weekly assault on Mount Washmore in the laundry, and continuing with my only occasionally successful attempts to declutter the house.

My new kitchen table and chairs will arrive next Tuesday, so we’ll spend the weekend moving out the old kitchen table and washing the floor. Fun fun.

I’m going to my sister’s baby shower tomorrow, and then on Father’s Day we’re having a cookout! I’m honestly more excited for the cookout because there will be smoked brisket :)

I’m going to a game store on Saturday to have a mini painting party with some friends in a local TTRPG group. I have a huuuuge backlog of mini’s that need to get painted… It’s real bad lol

But doing it with friends will help motivate me, which was the whole reason we organized it because they suffer from the same problem haha

That’s more of a wargame than a true TTRPG but there are Warhammer TTRPGs! Like Deathwatch, Rogue Legacy, and Imperium Maledictum.

This Discord group I ran across is specifically non-DnD TTRPG’s only, which has been great honestly. We’re getting together to paint mini’s because we’re looking to start a Mordheim campaign. I’m going to go with Skaven for my war band, looking forward to when we start that up 😄

          That sounds cool.

40K has always interested me, but I never got around to playing. I understand the distinction you’re getting at with it vs. TTRPGs, however.

I’m pretty happy I started this thread; I’m getting a really cool look at a whole bunch of other things I didn’t know existed, but people pursue for hobbies.

I’ve never played 40k either but I love the lore! I just don’t have the space available (or the money) to have a big army for a game like that. Mordheim is a good tradeoff though, it’s similar in gameplay but you fight with small squads of like ten figures. There’s also RPG elements with objectives you have to try and complete. The hard part is finding others to play with though, but if you’re interested to try and get people in your area into that check out Broheim which is a community that’s kept Mordheim alive since GW stopped supporting it!

That being said I highly recommend the Warhammer TTRPG’s I mentioned too, they’re a lot of fun. Each one gives a different flavor of the 40k universe. Deathwatch you play as a Space Marine which is as power fantasy as you’d imagine. While Rogue Legacy and Imperium Maledictum you’re normal Imperium citizens, and your character is exactly as squishy as you’d imagine lol

I’m glad you started it too! A lot of cool things in this thread 😄

We’ve got a kid so things revolve around them, but hoping to have a chill Father’s Day and trying to rope a friend of mine into seeing the new Transformers movie!
