hi, me and a few friends started playing warframe a month ago, and while i understand the protest and its reasons it makes us new players have a really hard time as most answers to questions about the game are in the r/warframe sub. some of the answers to stuff are on the wiki but a lot of them are not/ hard to find. if possible i would like the mods to consider making the sub at least view only so that we new players could use the information there. if that is not an option is there another place to find answers to common questions? the offical forum is not really helpfull
I really don’t mean to sound like an asshole but what’s the point in doing the protest if the sub is going to reopen anyway just seems pointless.
We ultimately have to find a balance between the different wishes and considerations in the community. There are those who support the protest and call for an indefinite one, and there are those who have been primarily relying on r/Warframe as a repository of information, which is inaccessible now.
That does make sense I myself have needed it for information thank you for replying.
I mean it’s getting to the point where the mods are going to be faced with either capitulating and re-opening the sub, or Reddit Administration forcibly removing them to replace them with scabs who’ll open it up for them. One way or another it’s going to end up open again. The only question is which.
Seems like Reddit has some pretty terrible policies going forwards trying to end the blackout:

It’s going to be interesting to watch subs like https://old.reddit.com/r/pics/ and https://old.reddit.com/r/gifs/
Same reason strikes aren’t indefinite: it’s a tool, not an end in and of itself. The idea is to show Spez et al that he’s got less power than he thinks he does, not to shut down Reddit indefinitely - you have to care quite a lot about a community to do the thankless job of moderating it for free.
