If I’m scrolling and I tap on a post to read the comments, and then I go back to where I was scrolling it automatically refreshes and loses my place in the feed

I’ve encountered the same behavior. I use Firefox. What seems to be helping is to hit the refresh-button in your browser - after that your feed is at the same place you left it (at least it worked when I did it). I’ve read that this is a known bug, which will be fixed soon.
