Following this post yesterday, the errors encountered by other admins were sorted and we realized captchas were not enough of a reason to keep people from experince the best version of Lemmy.
We are now on v0.18 with registration applications turned on, this is a temporary requirement until captchas are added back. If you encounter any bugs with the new version please mention them in the comments.
(Clear your cache if the new version doesn’t load for you, should work fine after that.)
Is being unable to change your email address part of the settings you’re speaking of? I get “This server hasn’t correctly set up email.” when I try to change the email address in my profile settings.
