Hey EU, FYI, if you want those fines to actually work as disincentives for companies that make trillions of dollars per year (fuck me, that’s weird to write), they need to be calculated as a percentage of gross (not net) revenue instead of a flat amount.

Nah, they need to exponentially grow.
I’m not sure I understand the issue. Grow with regards to what…? Inflation? That’s implicit if you’re calculating off of gross revenue.
Grow with non-compliance. For example, every month you don’t comply will cost you twice the previous month.
Oh, yeah, I agree. Treating violations and fines thereof as “the cost of business” should be an untenable long-term strategy for any business.
