Requesting: c/degoogle@lemmy.ml My post: https://lemm.ee/post/663113 but also have a few comments on there.
No mods are set for this community.
My intention is to recover this community and avoid fragmentation which almost happened here: https://lemmy.world/comment/812055
the “appoint as mod” operation appears not to be federating. your user page on lemmy.ml shows you as a moderator, but on your home server it does not. (even after i just removed you and re-added you.)
maybe @dessalines@lemmy.ml can help?
the ‘subscription pending’ thing is a known bug, and I think unrelated to the moderator status not federating. if i understand correctly, you are in fact actually subscribed.
Federation has failed on this, and due to the strong stance from moderators here on defederation from threads, I have made an account here:
I have a post here, but I will also post from that account to confirm it is me: https://lemmy.ml/post/2249613
Confirming from the account you previously gave mod to. Please give it to the lemmy.ml account. Also, after the event I realised the two mods for this community (I couldn’t see them externally, haven’t posted at all). While you are there, could you remove them, please?

ok, it’s transferred to you now. i also removed the other mods and removed and re-added your other account… but that still didn’t federate. making your lemmy.ml account a mod did, though.
Thanks very much. By the looks of the Github repo, they have fixed a bug where federating mods with errors will fail: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3460
Hopefully, this is less of an issue in future. Thanks for your assistance. :)
nice. hopefully when both instances have upgraded to a version with that commit you can use this account to remove and re-add your moderator status for your account on the other instance, if you want.
