After movie-web got taken down including all their github repositories, a fork called sudo-flix emerged.

Their links are:

From what I can tell, it’s a perfectly working fork. So go ahead and star, fork and host instances and code on other platforms!

Super easy to get a napkin idea started. Then it picks up steam and suddenly it’s a million lines of code, with hundreds of users. And now it’s a big headache to migrate when shit just works as is in GitHub.

GitHub knows how their customers work.

Thanks for heads up. Geez haven’t the authorities got anything better to do? Like serial killers etc. Too much funding IMO lol

what’s the technical basis for this anyway? is it safe to use without a vpn (ie. is it using p2p connections). didn’t find something immediately in the docs, maybe someone can shed some light?

It’s basically just a website that searches different providers for a file and then plays said file. It is safe to use without a VPN (though still better to use with a VPN for general safety measure) as its the same as watching youtube or whatever… Hope that helps :)

I never understood how movie-web got so popular when services like FMovies exist.
