      Because none of the crew can step foot on American soil. It’s a Singaporean vessel with an Indian and Sri Lankan crew. They don’t have visas and so they’re denied entry.

      The bureaucracy of DHS knows no limits and has no compassion.

        Well can’t some other ship from Singapore come by and pickup the crew and take them back?

        They don’t have to set foot on American soil for a boat to take them away though. by the way, I can totally accept the possibility that it’s some kind of ridiculous immigrations or customs issue. But if it is, you can’t really infer it just from this article and I’m a little annoyed by that. it seems like the obvious question to ask.

      Good question, that’s probably why the crewmen fear they’ll be held personally accountable.
